Allround Starter/Refresher

The OVT Starter/Refresher Program offers a comprehensive learning pathway that combines independent online study with online live sessions. Designed to provide a solid foundation of all-round knowledge, this 1-year program is ideal for newly graduated veterinarians seeking a strong start, as well as experienced professionals in need of an in-depth refresher. It is also an excellent choice for veterinarians transitioning from other specialties to companion animal care.

Internal Medicine

Do you thrive on solving complex diagnostic puzzles and uncovering the underlying causes of a patient’s condition? Are you drawn to challenging cases involving chronic gastrointestinal issues, urinary tract disorders, blood abnormalities, or hormonal imbalances in dogs and cats? If so, this learning pathway is designed for you.

Over the course of one year, you will gain an in-depth understanding of internal medicine, with a focus on practical, real-world cases that you will encounter in daily veterinary practice. By exploring clinical case studies and the latest evidence-based research, this program will equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to build a strong foundation in internal medicine, preparing you for the challenges you face in practice

Exotics 101

This specialized learning pathway is tailored for veterinarians and veterinary nurses with a keen interest in exotic species, including small mammals, birds, and reptiles, who are eager to enhance their knowledge and practical expertise in this area. Throughout the program, participants will explore the anatomy, physiology, care, common diseases, and critical care of these species, along with essential clinical techniques. Additionally, the curriculum covers anesthesia, basic surgery for small mammals and reptiles, and foundational dental care for small mammals.

Delivered entirely online, the program offers over 15 hours of comprehensive course material, consisting of webinars (approximately 10 hours dedicated to rabbits and small rodents, 3 hours to reptiles, and 2 hours to birds)*. Supplementary resources, such as radiology quizzes and reading materials, are included to enhance the learning experience. The majority of the content is self-paced, allowing you to complete the program over a 4-month period at your convenience.
