This course helps veterinary professionals prevent, recognise and respond to anaesthetic complications in dogs and cats. It covers practical anaesthetic risk assessment, patient and team preparation, monitoring, and decision-making during common respiratory, cardiovascular and temperature-related complications. Key topics include airway obstruction, respiratory depression, hypoxaemia, hypotension, arrhythmias, hypothermia, hyperthermia, reflux, regurgitation and aspiration. The course emphasises early recognition, structured preparation, appropriate intervention and team reflection after complications.
