I graduated as a veterinarian from Ghent University in 2017, after which I completed an internship and subsequently a residency in the Department of Internal Medicine. In February 2022, I obtained my diploma from the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM). Subsequently, I worked at a private French clinic, where I further developed the internal medicine department and actively contributed to expanding the ICU and cardiology referral client base. Within my clinical work, I have a particular interest in cardiology, respiratory diseases, sports medicine, and neonatology, and I contributed to the development and application of transvenous electrical cardioversion (TVEC) in horses with atrial fibrillation, among other projects.
Throughout my career, I have published various scientific articles, given lectures at international congresses, and provided continuing education courses for veterinarians. My research has been awarded prizes including the Luis Monreal Award (ECEIM 2023) and the Best Clinical Research Presentation Award (AVEF 2023). Currently, I am also involved in doctoral research on cardiac abnormalities in foals at Ghent University.
However, what has always driven me the most is sharing knowledge and guiding colleagues in their clinical development. Driven by this passion for education, I became involved with Online Vet Training (OVT) Paard, together with Geert Paes. Together, we are responsible for content development, strategic growth, and creating practice-oriented, high-quality training courses specifically for equine veterinarians.
Since June 2025, I have also been part of the ESMP team, where I work as an outpatient internist in the BENELUX and regularly consult at clinics abroad, among other things, to treat horses with atrial fibrillation.
