From early recognition to optimal intervention
The webinar will become available on October 1st 2026.
Dystocia is an emergency situation in which rapid and well-founded decisions make the difference between a successful delivery and maternal or neonatal morbidity. This online webinar covers step by step the physiology of normal parturition, important risk factors (breed predispositions, fetal abnormalities, metabolic disorders) and early recognition of dystocia. We then discuss diagnostics and therapeutic options. Both medical options and cesarean section are covered, including pre- and postoperative considerations. Finally, neonatal resuscitation and basic postpartum care are addressed. The webinar is primarily aimed at veterinarians, but also offers clear guidance for veterinary assistants and paraveterinary professionals.
